I really enjoyed this story. It kept me interested from beginning to end. Laura meets Taliq and even though she is cautious she falls hard. Taliq also falls for Laura but he has been romancing her under false pretences. His grandfather thinks his cousin is about to ask her to marry him and wants Taliq to woo her away. When it all comes out he doesn't know if he can win her back. Loved it!
I really loved this story. Taliqe has always had a close relationship with his cousin Yuusuf. So when his grandfather shows him a picture of him with a women California he asks him to save him again.He does a background check on the woman in the picture and decides she is another gold digger and decides to flaunt his money and steal her away from his cousin.
He meets Laura at an event she is working as private security. He takes her out doing romantic get aways. He decides to buy her a charm bracelet with charms of their outings. After going out one day another picture appears of Laura and Yuusef in the paper. Taliqe is furious. He takes her away for the week end. Meanwhile Laura is falling in love with him. When they arrive at her apartment her best friend Jenna is there waiting for her. When Yuusef walks in he sees his cousin and gets mad at him for interferring in is life again. Yuusef tells him he is engaged to Jenna. All the lies come out and Laura is heart broken about Tal's deception.
She goes to Tamarin for Jenna and Yuusef's engagement party. Tal is told not to attend it because of what he did to Laura. He tries to see her to explain. He finally talks her into seeing him. At the engagement party he asks her to marry him.So when his grandfather made the announcement it was for his two grandsons.

Loved this book.....think it is my favourite Barbara McMahon book so far!
Tal and Laura are fantastic characters who take you through a roller-coaster of emotions. I found myself steaming in anger, laughing out loud, growling in frustration, melting with lust and crying with heartbreak, but at no point did I want to put this book down.
I am looking forward to the rest of this series, hoping they all pack a punch like this one.

I have enjoyed all of Barbara McMahon's books in the past, and this book is no exception to the rule. Laura and Tal are both characters whom you enjoy reading about, you like both of them from the beginning of the story even if all of the decisions being made are not ones you agree with. I enjoyed watching their relationship grow and develop. I also enjoyed the side story of Jenna and Yuusuf, and their families, as they celebrated their commitment to one another. This was a lovely light hearted story that was a fast, sweet read. I look forward to future installments in this series.
Barbara McMahon has proven she can write any type of romance & involve the reader & their emotions. From the beginning I was involved in this story & had to keep reading to see how far Tal would take the charade. Rather than being interested in him as a strong always ha male, I could easily picture him as an arrogant, selfish jerk with no regards to another persons feelings. Laura comes across as a fairly innocent young lady with high personal standards. This was a very enjoyable read & I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys a true romance without the over done sex scenes in so many of today's books.

It can be a bit embarrassing when you find that the person you were trying to save your cousin from isn't the right one. Especially since you have become very fond of her yourself. Having had a bad marriage himself, he really does think all women are gold diggers. Wow! What a surprise when he decides this might not be true. He has his works cut out for him. Very enjoyable read.
Laura Toliver is an employee of Beatty Security in San Francisco California. She goes to functions to lookout for art and valuables and to make sure they aren't stolen. Her main focus at these functions is to mingle and make no problems arise . She has worked for this company three years now. At one function she happens to meet a powerful man named Sheikh Yuusuf ibn Horah . Laura has her picture made with this man and so people who see this photo assumed that they are a couple including Yuusuf's family. News of this possible couple reaches Yuusuf's grandfather so the grandfather decides to send Yuusuf's cousin Talique bin Azoz bin who is also a powerful man and looks out for his cousin Yuusuf . Tal goes to San Francisco to find out what's going on and to the relationship if he has to. Yuusuf has a history of getting mixed up with women that aren't suitable for him. These women are only after his money. Laura's friend Jenna Stanhope is really the one who is in a relationship with Yuusuf. Yuusuf is a leader in his country so he has to marry a woman who has leadership qualities Jenna is a plain , ordinary woman who has her own money and is completely in love with Yuusuf and beliefs she has found her fairy tale romance. She appears at first not to be the type of woman Yuusuf should marry. Tal decides the only to get his cousin n out of this mess is to run interference between Yuusuf and Laura . He decides to go after Laura and make her forget about his cousin. He has no idea about Jenna. Tal does everything thing he can to get Laura to fall for him including romantic dates and lavish gifts. Can Tal get Laura to fall in love with him and leave his cousin alone? Will Laura fall for Tal's plan? Will Jenna and Yuusuf get together like they want to? I liked this book. This was the first book that I have read from this author. I like the part where the author works things out. Tal and Laura's dates were so unique and fun . They were very romantic. I was to see everyone confronting Tal and putting him in his place so to speak. I liked the ending alto I figured it might go that way it was nice to see it go that way. This book shows you what misunderstandings and jumping to conclusions can do. Tal had a chip on his should because of what he went through with his deceased wife. This book is also about the love of a family and what they would to protect someone they love and their position. The grandfather just went about things all wrong . Communication would have been the way to go. I think Tal meant well but he ended up causing a lot of hurt that wasn't necessary . Both of the women in this story just wanted happy ever after and don't we all. I received an advance copy for my honest thoughts.
